October 08, 2009: I finally... finally... FINALLY!!!!!!!!! (*pant*)... know what the hell I'm doing. BTW, I haven't even used CPAOD-News yet (but I will). If you want to see existent talk of this project, check CPAOD-Discuss instead. And, sheesh, post something there while you're at it. (Though you can also sub with web only memberships and be a complete lurker who only checks in once a year, if that's what suits you.)
The Big News!!! Yes, CPAOD is back! Instead of the old form of Cyber-Psychos AOD (which could still come back in the future, time shall tell), I am currently assembling a new form: CPAOD-Chibi. It'll be smaller, a bit less glossy and bound (but still nice enough... more like the earliest issues of CPAOD than the latest ones), and likely erratic as all Hades with the content assortment (okay, maybe I should say YET MORE erratic), but it will still be CPAOD with plenty of the same ol' familiar faces. A handful of us seem to be more persistent than cockroaches, anyway.
I currently have some contributions, and am slowly bugging people for more. I don't want an onslaught of random submissions at the moment. If you were in CPAOD in the past, get in touch and ask what I'm looking for and/or tell me what you might have. I still have some pressing life obligations to keep me busy in October, but I will be working on this as I can -- and I will be very seriously working on throwing it together in November.
Hopefully after the first issue I can be more open to random submissions. Right now I just want to get this thing going, so I don't want to sidetrack myself with checking out mystery people and possibilities. If I sidetrack myself I could, like, disappear for 8 years... you just never know!
November 11, 2008: It's been so long, and I got so flaky, I decided to scrap
everything on this page and start all over. There is a lot I want to get done, but
I have mountains of catch-up to do on the web sites and mailing lists.
In case you missed it on the main page, CPAOD 10 really has been out for ages. I simply need to get around to adding it to the web site. Plans are somewhat in order for a new CPAOD, but it will be different and I have no idea how long it will take me to get around to it.
First please note that the mailing lists moved as usual. And, worse, after they moved I forgot to deal with it. Links still pointed to old nonexistent versions, and activity was not great. I didn't quite have cpaod-news working right. Now that's working and I will use it soon... activity HAS resumed on cpaod-discuss. Note that anyone can join in on CPAOD-Discuss. Please do join in! The worst that could possibly happen is that you might become the new Buddy. Or you might just fall in, and find that you, too, enjoy Buddy. Who knows...
You need to be a member to post, but there are membership options for mail digest and no mail (eg you can read the web archives). I use the normal single-post mail option (which is the default, so don't forget to change your settings if you don't want that) because I prefer seeing posts as they come in. Due to some of us being like that, there can be a wave of inactivity followed by a hyper day (or days) of some of us rapidly responding to each other.
Yeah, I'm pushing this because I feel guilty about blowing it off for so long. I was having... technical difficulties... I'll probably write about some of it on my own web site, in the Random Thoughts section, before TOO long. That was a more recent section that I also wound up blowing off, but at least it has more recent update dates than most of my sites.
If you want a good laugh over the scary dates... Until today, the CPAOD index page said the mailing lists had moved in '05 and provided those new urls. That was true. But, *cough*, they moved again on 06/17/07 and I didn't even remember to fix the links until now! Well, I did fix them on my personal web site -- just not on this one (or various others).
Uh... I put out a new Cnidarian Booklet a couple of years ago. That was something. ;)
