Cyber-Psychos AOD's Drooling Otaku Links
Last Updated: 05/06/01
Due to the nature of many anime sites, I must give the obligatory disclaimer. Please keep in mind that it isn't nice to only support freebies. If all of your favourite anime happens to be available on-line, kindly buy something to support the shows you care about (whether it be DVDs, tapes, manga, soundtracks, UFO dolls, or pencil boards). I'm going to try not to link sites that offer licensed anime, so feel free to yell at me if I screw up on that attempt. Or, better yet, ask me nicely to remove any naughty links you notice. I fully support anime and manga continuing to become more accessible in this country.
- Anime Turnpike: The absolute collection of anime web site links, in numerous handy categories. Maybe you can click on a few Flame of Recca links for me while you're there. ;)
- Anime Nation: As I once discovered (in an extremely annoying fashion, but I won't get into that), this is one of the only on-line anime stores that you can trust to always sell you Official Products as opposed to *%$**%#$%^ Chinese bootlegs. Recca CDs can be found here.
- Anime News Network: Miscellaneous anime news. The Answerman column (and the front page news) provides many a detail about what is being licensed and released in the US.
- Anime News Sevice: Event reports, reviews, and general anime news.
- Hitoshi Doi Seiyuu Database Search: Look up seiyuu under their names, their character names, or the series they're in. (eg Midorikawa Hikaru, Hayashibara Megumi, Recca no Honoo, or Mikage Souji.)
- Sasuga Books: Manga, artbooks, etc. I'm sure I sound like a broken record because I'm eternally bummed about it not being licensed, but this is where I buy my Flame of Recca manga. ;) And where I got my Angel Sanctuary boxed set, amongst other items.
- Viz Communications: Viz releases subbed and dubbed anime (and manga, though only translated for that), most notably Ranma 1/2.
- Anime Episode Search: You can find episodes from many unlicensed series through this search engine. You can also find episodes from licensed series, so I'll have to trust you to be nice.
- Bishonen: Catch 'Em All: This is pretty silly, but also very cute. Between the two key words/phrases in the title, I was an immediate goner. My bishone-ball collection is currently confining Mikagami Tokiya, Raiha, & Kurei (Flame of Recca), Mikage Souji (Shoujo Kakumei Utena), Xellos & Zelgadis (Slayers), Rail Claymore (Lost Universe), Seiya & Ail (Sailor Moon), Saitou Hajime (Rurouni Kenshin), Larva (Vampire Princess Miyu), and seiyuu Midorikawa Hikaru. Next I'll aim for some Angel Sanctuary characters.
- NG Evacorp: Neon Genesis Evangelion is my favourite anime story. Lots of info can be found here, but you should avoid spoilers. Watch the series in order (most of it is already available on DVD), then watch it again, and then watch it yet again. It's the best way to figure it all out.
- Slayers Universe: A fairly comprehensive Slayers site, though it doesn't include much about Slayers Try. This is a very immense series that becomes more complex as it goes along. Don't blow it off if the beginning bores you.
- The Xellos Lovers Ring: A Yahoo webring for my favourite Slayers character: Xellos, the mysterious priest. Such utterly adorable evil...
- Zel's Ring of Power: A Yahoo webring for my second favourite Slayers character: Zelgadis, the human/stone golem cold-hearted swordsman. Such adorable... uh... rockyness...
- Dark Waters: A web ring for my favourite Flame of Recca character: Mikagami Tokiya. I adore Raiha and Kurei as well, but moreso in the manga which continues well beyond the end of the anime story (and is far more sordid and involved in ways).
- Midorikawa Hikaru: A Midorikawa Hikaru group (web group/mailing list) I formed because I'm obsessed with so many of his characters. I have pictures, sound files, and links up for members.
- Flame of Recca: A Recca group that I'm active in.
- Miburo Madness: And here's a Saitou Hajime/Shinsen Gumi mailing list I'm sometimes active on.
- Mibu no Ookami: For that matter, here's my favourite Saitou shrine though I don't think it's been updated in a year.
