Cyber-Psychos AOD's Techno-Weenie Goody Links
Last Updated: 08/17/00
- CIAC Security Web Site: Computer virii, ping attacks, etc.
- MIT PGP Distribution Site: You can still download PGP here, and get the necessary info.
- The List: All of the info you need for getting off of AOL and finding a real isp to move onto in your neighborhood.
- Deja News: Usenet newsgroup search engine.
- AltaVista: My favourite web search engine. It's gotten clunky, but so far the Raging division simply doesn't have as many sites indexed.
- Disinformation: A specialized search engine for exactly the types of things I have linked here.
- Hot Bot: This is on-line Wired's search engine, though it isn't remotely specific to their type of thing.
- Yahoo: A user-friendly, categorized, search engine.
- Excite: Right now I'm thinking this search engine's bot follows links and adds urls the fastest. I said that years ago and have no idea if it's still true.
- USA Online: A yellow pages of on-line businesses in the USA.
- Gozilla: My favourite program for downloading large files. Unfortunately the current version (3.9) sucks, and the day I downgraded to it was the day I spent half a day wanting to kill my computer because the lousy program crashed it every two seconds. Even shutting the program down didn't work, because it kept turning itself back on. I had to unceremoniously uninstall the bastard. Look at the next link though.
- DownloadSafari: A good place to find old versions of programs, since these days so many want to be too fancy to actually work. You can get Gozilla 3.5 here, most of the program links won't work but some will so just keep on clicking.
